What you said is only true if you have a fast line with no transfer
cap. The actual download is just for the installer which then goes
over the net to get the rest of the package. How many days does it
take to install over a dial up line? How much hardware does it require
to run when you do get it?
It know just how hard it is to remember that the world is not like
your back yard. I made a comment just like yours once and was
contacted off list by a fellow who lived only a couple of hundred
miles from where I live in Central Texas. He pointed out that where he
lived the fastest Internet connection he could get was about 20kbps
dial up. He was lucky to own an old PC. There were no computer stores,
or book stores, Internet cafes, or libraries near where he lived. Hey,
even folks living in big US cities don't always have access to things
many of us take for granted.
A lot of the world is a lot like east Texas, lots of people spread
over a very wide and mostly empty space with little access to what we
high tech city folk consider normal.
