[SDL] Running SDL on a monochrome (1-bit) framebuffer

Hi,

trying  to use the SDL-library for an embbeded Linux GUI on a monochrome 
(1-bit/pixel) FSTN LCD I'm stucking because the missing support for 
1-bit depth framebuffers.
Please give me a hand for extending the SDL framebuffer support for 
monochrome framebuffers, telling me where I may find some info's how to 
do that. If one has done something similar (ipod-port) please contact 
for cooperation.
