[SDL] Vista and SDL_Mixer and X-Fi

I have Vista and a X-Fi card and every once in and awhile the app will lock
up? It says I am using Dsound as a driver?

 

if(Mix_OpenAudio(44100, MIX_DEFAULT_FORMAT, 2, 4096) != 0)

 

that is how I setup the sound.
