[SDL] why not use a bbs instead of the mail list.

Careful.  That's my bread and butter you're talking about.  I'm an email
admin.  :-)

The problem with a BBS is that you have to make a point of going there.
 Some people have difficulty disciplining themselves.  Most people are
in their email frequently enough to be aware of what messages are there
and will act to read them or clear them out.

Kerfuffle indeed.  That just a bunch of pippydoo.  :-)
