[SDL] Jedi sdl problem

Hi
Maybe its an offtopic but I will ask here. Have anybody tried Jedi SDL??? I
need to use pascal with SDL, but I have some problems compiling code in
Dev-pascal and Freepascal.
This is the problem:

if (image.format.palette and screen_.format.palette) then
[/code]

dev-pascal shows this error:
sdl1.pas Error: Operator is not overloaded

freepascal this:
sdltestmy.pas(35,41) Error: Illegal qualifier
sdltestmy.pas(35,41) Fatal: Syntax error, ")" expected but "identifier W"
found
sdltestmy.pas(35,41) Fatal: Compilation aborted
