[SDL] SDL_Image & .xcf files, does it work?

loading of .xcf ( GIMP ) files does not work

I've created in gimp sample .xcf files
one layer file and the other multilayer
( 3 layers, 2 are 50% transparent )

after executing
#showimage one_layer.xcf

I see... beautiful checker ( not original image ).
it looks like layer is 100% transparent
( which of course is not in GIMP )

and
#showimage multilayer.xcf
I see sometimes black screen
and sometimes even segfault messages

does someone tested .xcf files with success?
maybe i'm doing something wrong?
