[SDL] version info in add-on libraries

Hi SDL folk,
  Please ignore this e-mail if it's not appropriate for this list.  I'm 
writing some autoconf scripts for a project that uses SDL as well as some of 
the add-on libraries that have been created for it, namely SDL_mixer, 
SDL_net, and SDL_image.  As such, I'd like to be able to check the version 
of these libraries that a user has on his/her system.  SDL_mixer provides 
this information, but SDL_net and SDL_image don't, at the moment.  If 
possible, could the maintainer(s) of these (and other packages) put it on 
his/her/their TODO list(s) to add some way of determining the version of the 
software?  It could be a #define or a function or a constant -- whatever you 
like.
