I got this error, somehow the tool didn't create the package correctly. 
I think this file fixes the problem:

http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/~walisser/sdl/macosx/SDL-1.2.1.pkg.tar.gz

I think it will be possible to write a shell script to create the 
installer. I'll look into that tonight.
